\r\n\r\n<\/a>Sri Lankan Security Forces\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\nCOLOMBO, SRI LANKA, November 2, 2016 \/EINPresswire.com<\/a>\/ —\r\n\r\nTransnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) today urged Sri Lankan Government\u2019s Cabinet spokesman, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne to release the name of the Brigadier who leads the notorious armed group called \u2018Aava\u2019 that is terrorizing Tamils and acting as a branch of the Sri Lankan Security forces.\r\n\r\nAddressing the weekly Cabinet news briefing on November 2nd in Colombo, the Cabinet spokesman said the following:\r\n\r\n\u201cMinister Senaratne dismissed the suggestion that this underworld group was a creation of the Tamil Diaspora and said \u2018Aava\u2019 was active in the North during the war and the armed forces were aware of that and added he could even reveal the name of the Brigadier who acted as the God Father of the \u2018Ava group\u2019 during the war.\u201d\r\n\r\nSee more at:\u00a0http:\/\/www.dailymirror.lk\/article\/-Aava-a-Gota-creation-Rajitha-118572.html#sthash.mf2jy4sD.dpuf<\/a>\r\n\r\nIt is imperative that Cabinet spokesman reveal the name of this Brigadier and other military officers who are involved in using these types of armed groups to kill, rape and abduct Tamil civilians said TGTE. \u201cThese armed groups are acting as a branch of the security forces.\u201d\r\n\r\nThousands of Tamils disappeared during the war and the Sri Lankan security forces created these types of armed groups to help them abuse the Tamils.\r\n\r\nArmed groups of this type are active even after the war ended over six years ago. These groups operate with the active support of the Sri Lankan security forces, which are stationed in very large numbers in Tamil areas even after the war ended.\r\n\r\nThese armed groups are terrorizing the Tamil population and civilians are nervous to move around freely.\r\n\r\nRecently, two Jaffna University Tamil students were killed by the police at a check point. Initially, police said it was a road accident, but when protests erupted and after the medical examination, it was revealed that one student was shot by the Police and the other beaten to death.\r\n\r\nABOUT TRANSNATIONAL GOVERNMENT OF TAMIL EELAM (TGTE):\r\n\r\nTransnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) is a democratically elected Government of a million strong Tamils (from the island of Sri Lanka) living in several countries around the world. There are over 90,000 Tamil war widows and thousands of Tamils disappeared due the conflict.\r\n\r\nAccording to this UN report, the killings and other abuses that took place amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. Independent experts believe that there are elements of these abuses that constitute an act of genocide.\r\n\r\nMembers of the Sri Lankan security forces are almost exclusively from the Sinhalese community and the victims are all from the Tamil community.\r\n\r\nA Buddhist Monk shot and killed a Sri Lankan Prime Minister 1959 for having talks with Tamil political leaders.\r\n\r\nTamils overwhelmingly voted in a Parliamentary election in 1977 to establish an independent and sovereign country called Tamil Eelam.
