TGTE’s Chief Election Commission Announces Details for Fourth Parliamentary Election

Mr. Ranjan Manoranjan, the Chief Election Commission of the Transnational

Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE), has announced the details about the upcoming election for the TGTE’s fourth Parliament, which will be comprised of 115 members from 12 countries.

The TGTE held its first election on May 2010, and its first Parliament convened on May 18, 2010, the first anniversary of the Mullivaikal Genocide, at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA, USA.

Every five years, the TGTE holds elections in twelve countries to elect parliamentarians from among its membership.

Mr. Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran, TGTE’s Prime Minister, pursuant to Article 1.10.2 of  the TGTE Constitution appointed the following individuals as Election Commissioners based on the recommendation of the members of the TGTE Parliament.

Mr. Ranjan Manoranjan [CPA, USA][Chairperson]

Ms. Anoja Muthusamy [Immigration Caseworker, UK]

Mr. Ramesh Balakrishnar [Journalist, Australia]

 

These three Election Commissioners will jointly manage the elections.

The Election Commission has appointed the following individuals as Countrywide

Election Commissioners, each of whom oversees the parliamentary election in their respective country:

Australia (and New Zealand) – Mr. K. Gopalakrishnan (Ret. Accountant)

Canada – Mr. Sivanesan Sinniah (Teacher & Journalist)

Denmark – Mr. Karunaharan (Teacher)

France (and Italy, Norway, Sweden, Finland) – Mr.Kumarasamy Pararasa (Tamil Activist)

Switzerland and Benelux countries – Mr. Sellaiah Kulasekaram (Tamil Activist)

Germany – Mr. Ra. Baskaran (Tamil Activist)

United Kingdom (and Ireland) – Mr. Sidambarapillai (Solicitor)

United States of America – Mr. V. Rajeswaran (Elect. Engineer)

The Election Commission has announced that nominations will start on March 10,

  1. The closing date for nominations in each country will be announced by each

Country’s Election Commissioner. The Election Commission has also announced that               the fourth parliamentary elections will take place on May 5, 2024.

The fourth Parliament of the TGTE will convene on May 17 – May 19, 2024, in the USA.
